Small stamps – great art
Liechtenstein has been issuing its own stamps since 1912. Thanks to their artistic design and elaborate production processes, they continue to hold a special place in the world of philately. Most of them are on display in the permanent exhibition.
As early as the 15th century, the route taken by the ‘Lindau Messenger’ between Lindau on Lake Constance and Milan passed through what is now Liechtenstein. This is traced in an interactive presentation.
The Liechtenstein Postal Museum provides a representative cross-section of the entire philatelic history of the Principality of Liechtenstein. Original designs by stamp designers, printing plates and printing sheets show the process of creating a stamp from start to finish.
